Daily Dose…

5 Nov

Introducing the Daily Dose.  This will be an “almost” daily post of links, videos and articles that I have discovered during the course of the day and want to share.

1) Major Shout Out to Fiona of How to Be Chic!!!  There is nothing chicer than giving a loving home to an animal that has lost theirs! http://howtobechic.blogspot.com/2010/11/30-chic-days-day-5.html

2) Putting this book on my library list: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/meg-wolff/an-exfirefighters-28day-s_b_776411.html

3) Chef Chloe may very well be my new hero! Her food looks AMAZING! http://www.chefchloe.com/

4) Why I’m aiming to limit dairy (even organic). http://www.thekindlife.com/post/why-organic-dairy-is-still-nasty

5) The truth about factory farms and why I decided to become a vegetarian (Its like Jersey Shore people…its ugly but its reality): http://www.chooseveg.com/animal-cruelty.asp*

*If you are already a vegetarian/vegan I suggest NOT watching these videos.  These images and videos are traumatic and devastating and there is no reason to subject yourself to them if you have already seen something similar.

Laura, I have eaten lots of Cabot cheese since moving to NE. They are at every big wine and beer tasting and food festivals all over the region. I love their horseradish cheese and am happy to know that they use veggie based rennet.

    How wonderful

    A Godsend to me

Not to keep adding to your veggie discussion

if you go to a higher end grocery store they usually have a “cheese expert” (maybe) .. That is fully aquainted with what cheeses are made with animal rennet vs vegetable rennet – from what my local cheese wrangler told me the package must same animal or vegetable on the ingredients – the term for the vegetable rennet is msn made enzymes ? I forget what it actalky said … but it is easy to point out and makes it a lot easier when making your selections

    Thanks for listening
